Embassy Suites Phoenix-Tempe – 4400 South Rural Road, Tempe, Arizona 85282Bed bugs are nasty parasitic insects that feed on the blood of warm-blooded animals including humans. Bed bugs are most typically found in hospitals, apartments, hotels, buses, homes and rv mattress types. They love traditional mattresses and they are very hard to get rid of and prevent unless you learn how.
Infestation causes for bed bugs are not really known, but it does not have anything to do with poor hygiene. All it takes is one bed bug to catch a ride in your clothing to infest your home or RV. FYI: It is not common that bed bugs transmit infections or illnesses through biting. Infections can be transmitted rarely if a bed bug is smashed and has blood left from feeding off another person that has an infection.
It is not common for you to be able to tell when a bed bug is feeding on your blood, but they do leave tell tale signs like an itchy rash. You can most likely find them by checking for moldy spots on your mattress or furniture. They are found commonly on second hand furnishings and mattresses, so you should treat anything you have bought second hand. This means an exterminator has to be hired.
One of the biggest issues today is the concern of people using RVs and the increase in bed bug infestations. You can prevent this to a large extent by choosing the right kind of rv mattress for your recreational vehicle. You can be sure that traditional mattresses make bed bugs happy, whereas latex and memory foam mattresses are not a happy place for bed bugs.
When it comes to rv mattress selection you want to look for hypoallergenic memory foam or latex mattresses. These are the least susceptible to bed bugs and one of the many benefits of memory foam and latex mattresses. Some of the other benefits is little to no transfer movement, comfort and proper body support.
In conclusion, you need to do a little researsch before you choose an rv mattress. Make sure the label or the information in the description online states that it’s hypoallergenic. You can further prevent bed bugs in an RV by following a few guidelines like using mattress covers and taking precautions to keep your clothing as far from your bed as possible.
It looked like it was shaping up to be a typical Wednesday afternoon at the Bulwark marketing department. And then at 11:16am it hit. Matt Ware, defensive back for the Arizona Cardinals tweets out: “Any Birdgang wanna meet at Smashburger on Rural and Baseline? Going right now on me.”
Wait, you mean that a member of our hometown Cardinals is inviting everybody to come say hello and get a bite to eat with him? We tweeted back just to make sure he’d still be there if we made the 30 minute drive out to Tempe. He responded “We’ll be chillin’ for a minute. Come thru!”
Awesome!
We all hopped in the car and made our way down to Tempe. Sure enough, there he was. Also with him was his teammate, Cardinals wide receiver Max Komar.
Matt was kind enough to stand in line and chat with all of us before picking up our tab. Max also made time to chat with us and in the end we all shared a few laughs about football, basketball and baked goods.
For us, it was fun to meet a member of the Cardinals up close and personal. On a much broader scale, it shows the connecting power that social sites like twitter and facebook can have. Isn’t that the point of it? To be…social?
Big thanks from the Bulwark crew to Matt Ware and Max Komar for sharing their lunch hour with a bunch of pest control guys.
Also in attendance and definitely worth a twitter follow were @TeamFitz11 @ThatBeChristian @SherryesKitchen (who brought Matt some of her delicious gourmet brownies shown above) @AlissaAP and @njurisin. And if any of you get a chance, stop by Smashburger. Its good grub.

The Bulwark family would like to send the very best of wishes for you and your family this holiday season. We hope you’ll make great memories with those you love as you prepare for the new year, with new beginnings.
Bulwark’s marketing department spent last Friday night with the Phoenix Suns for their third annual #SunsTweetup event. Early access to pre-game shootaround. Club seating. Tour of TV productions trucks parked right next to all the players’ vehicles. Tweetup t-shirt. And post-game chat session with the Suns’ Jared Dudley. Here’s all the evidence.
We arrived 2 hours before tip-off to get an up-close look at both teams warming up.
After the team’s introduction we were ready for some basketball, in club seating no less!
During halftime we were treated to a little VIP access on the production side of things. Suns’ staff member, @SunsDigitalDiva took us down for a tour of the TV broadcast trucks. Audio, video, lighting, camera direction, statistics – it all happens here.
And of course we couldn’t pass on getting a few up-close shots of the player cars in the parking lot. Is that the coach’s car by its lonesome?!?
The Portland Trailblazers ended up winning that game. Oh well! After the game our Tweetup group got on a 1-on-1 session with Suns Forward Jared Dudley. Dudley is a consistent tweeter either talking about life in the NBA or where the best eateries are around town.
And thanks to our friend @SunsWebmaster, we were able to get our customized @JaredDudley619 t-shirt in his hands right before our very eyes. The tweet we put on his shirt reads: “I was having a good day but after I heard @jrich23 Spartans lost to Iowa my day got a whole lot better. Maybe next year.” (@Jrich23 is Dudley’s Suns teammate Jason Richardson, who played college ball for the Michigan State Spartans)
All in all, it was a great night with great people. Thanks to the Suns crew and Jared Dudley for all their hard work and effort. Here’s one last picture from the Suns’ official Planet Orange page. View the rest of the gallery as well.
